    19 For tape backup we have an aging [http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/stor-sys/128T/en/doc.htm Dell PowerVault 128T] tape system ([http://74.125.47.132/search?q=cache:zvi8twu_BB8J:www.dell.com/downloads/global/products/pvaul/en/pv128t_infobrief.doc+powervault+128T+linux&cd=8&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=us specs]).  This is sufficient for traditional local backup and archive needs.  It facilities development of processes that will leverage back-end storage subsystems. It's only got 1 working HP Ultrium drive right now, the other one has a tape stuck in it, but [http://www.columbia.edu/~ip71/ltohell/ltohell.html Iran's LTO Hell] has some nice documentation on how to extract it, which may bring the drive back to life.]  At the moment this tape library is driven by a Win2k box running Veritas BackupExec.  Until we can find a way to control the tape robot from Linux, our connection to the Linux world will be through their [http://seer.entsupport.symantec.com/docs/240654.htm backup agents].
