This project is involves deploying a LabKey instance on caBIG.

Status

2008-10-31::

Initial meeting to explore the ideas of deploying LabKey as a caBIG pilot to demonstrate functionality and features of an integrated security infrastructure. This meeting was a dialog on the security services available to applications and identified an outline of the project steps and the underlying grid infrastructure development in progress at UAB. The meeting is summarized here and the effort has coalesced as the UAB Grid Applications Working Group.

• demonstrate operational authx infrastructure (approx 1 ideal month)
  • spike solution: get howdycabig under authx
    • familirize with gridgrouper and cagrid authx
    • get howdycabig in secure container
    • get grouper to control access to howdy app
    • get howdy app to recognize user

• deploy local cagrid security infrastructure
  • dorian, gridgrouper, GTS, etc
  • use cagrid training grid security infrastructure
  • set up distinct ("higher") LOA UABgrid CA for use in caBIG (using dorian)
  • get uabgrid ca in GTS
  • get uabgrid ca integrated with dorian (user mgmt)
  • add HSIS identity service

• labkey pilot on cabig training
  • get labkey 8.3 on training grid (this is the fixed version)
  • get labkey data service using grid grouper
  • get grouper to control access to labkey cabig data

• labkey on cabig production (test data)
  • migrate to production grid and infrastructure

• mobley's labkey on cabig production
